The celebrity blogger is planning to dish the dirt on Hollywood’s biggest stars when he enters the CBB house next month
Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton has reportedly caused the A-list elite to be on high alert as he threatens to spill secrets on Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Kim Kardashian on Celebrity Big Brother next month.
Perez, 36, is highly tipped to be one of the housemates on the next series and his former pal Gaga, 28, is said to have ordered her lawyers to keep an eye on the gossip king’s antics in the house, reports the Daily Star.
According to an insider, the blogger ‘knows where the bodies are buried’ in Hollywood and his inside information could potentially be embarrassing to the likes of Gaga, Kim and Roar hitmaker Katy – as well as pop sirens Beyonce and Rihanna.
But legal experts say Channel 5 will need to keep a “tight rein” on Perez’s comments as UK libel laws are much more stringent than in the US.
The blogger was good friends with Gaga when the Applause hitmaker first burst onto the pop scene in 2009. But the eccentric singer ended their friendship in 2011 after a particularly difficult interview with Perez, claiming he was being “very negative” about her 2011 album Born This Way.
“He was supposed to be my friend and I felt betrayed, so I started crying,” she explained last year.
“And then he apologised, but I sort of felt like it was like, ‘But I’m Perez Hilton so I’m allowed to treat you this way.’ I looked at him and said, ‘Just because you are who you are, does not mean that our friendship doesn’t mean anything when the cameras turn on. So, now I see who you really are.’ And I was done after that.”
Gaga went on to brand Perez “fake”, saying: “He’s just mad that I don’t want to hang out anymore because I don’t want to be around fake people.”
For his part, Perez says he felt Gaga was “using her”, saying: “I think it was fame that just poisoned her.”
“She had an album Fame Monster, her second album, and she became consumed by that which she was fascinated about. You know, fame can be a very deadly drug and it has damaged her personally.”
Other celebs in the frame for the new series of Celebrity Big Brother include loudmouth Katie Hopkins and Keith Chegwin.
Earlier this week it was reported that CBB bosses are in hot water with this year’s crop of talent after extending the date.
CBB chiefs originally scheduled the show to run until January 30 but due to the success of last year’s shows decided to extend the January show until February 6.
